This woman was dragged 15 feet trying to stop the man who stole her car

A woman was dragged by her own car in Windsor Locks, CT, as she tried to stop a thief from stealing it, police said. The woman, 34, was flung to the pavement at a local gas station, but was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment, police said. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, a short, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the word “NAVY” in gold letters, and jeans.

She told police she had parked her gray 2016 Nissan Altima next to the convenience store building, and left her vehicle running with the keyless vehicle FOB in her pocket. After going inside to make a purchase, she observed a man getting into her vehicle via the driver side door. She immediately ran out of the store to her vehicle and opened the driver’s door, then struggled with the suspect, keeping him from closing the door. As she struggled with the door, the suspect accelerated her vehicle, causing her to be dragged about 15 feet. She only let go of the car due to the momentum of the accelerating vehicle causing her to lose her grip on the door.
