Tennessee trooper accused of groping woman cleared of criminal charges
Patricia Wilson filed a lawsuit claiming that cop Isaiah Lloyd fondled her during the search. Wilson was pulled over twice by the same officer within just a few hours, both times for minor infractions. “No drugs, no nothing, no alcohol,” she said. “I do no drugs, no nothing, swear to God.”
Lloyd asked her to get out of the vehicle and to bend over, placing her hands on the front of his cruiser. She said he felt around her waistline, putting his hands down in her underwear and touching her buttock and pubic area. Lloyd asked Wilson whether she had taken any prescription drugs, or had any hidden in her bra. She pulled her T-shirt away from her breasts and jiggled her chest area as proof. Lloyd then conducted two field sobriety tests.
Within days of the reporting of the lawsuit, Tennessee Highway Patrol cleared Lloyd of any wrongdoing. 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler said Lloyd’s actions were inconsistent with his training. But that he did not believe he could mount a criminal case of sexual battery against Lloyd.
The pending seat belt violation against Ms. Wilson has been dismissed by the District Attorney General’s Office. Lloyd was placed back on active duty.
