6/16/2022,Joe Biden again claims inflation is higher around the rest of the world. “First of all, it’s not inevitable,” Biden said. “Secondly, we’re in a stronger position than any nation in the world to overcome this inflation.” This is the new talking point from Biden’s White House. Earlier on 6/15/2022, Biden downplayed inflation and said other countries have it worse. “Under my plan for the economy, we’ve made extraordinary progress,” Biden argued at the labor union’s conference. “And we put America in a position to tackle the… worldwide problem that’s worse everywhere but here: inflation,” Biden said. Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked “Why is [Biden] saying that inflation is worse everywhere but here?”
Karine Jean Pierre: “Because of what we have seen across the globe. First of all, inflation is a global challenge, as we have said. It is–it is–it is–it is caused by, clearly,…” Doocy followed up, “He says…inflation is worse everywhere but here. That’s not true. U.S. has worse inflation than Germany, France, Japan, Canada, India, Italy, Saudi Arabia…Why is he saying that?” Karine Jean Pierre: “Well, I think what we are saying is…it is a global thing…everyone is feeling”
On 6/16/2022, Senator James Lankford continues to call out the Biden Administration for its anti-US energy policies that he says are doing nothing substantive to fight high inflation. “And gas prices? Oh, hello. Gas prices—that really has had an effect. This is gas prices since January of 2017. Again, we look and stay about the same until January of 2021. I wonder what happened then. And then look at this. And in the conversation about gas prices, that from the Administration lately has been it’s all Putin’s fault, well, here’s the rising gas prices since President Biden’s inauguration right there, and right there is the war that began in Russia. So, this little increase right here is the part that’s actually there. This is consumer price inflation. This is on gas prices. Same thing, to be able to see this flat line on gas prices, that spike … This has been ongoing since late January 2021. We all remember very well this moment during the presidential campaign when President Biden was campaigning, and he walks over to a young lady in the campaign stop and says, ‘Look at my eyes. I guarantee you we’re going to end fossil fuel. I guarantee you.’ That was this moment that happened here. This is not something totally accidental. It was a drive to say we’ve got to shift to solar, we’ve got to shift to wind, we’ve got to shift to hydro, we’ve got to shift to other things, and we’re going to get rid of fossil fuels and we’re going to accelerate that as fast as possible.”
Boebert: Mr. Moore I have a question for you if you don’t mind. With just a brief answer: if you were advising Joe Biden on how to make our economy as weak as possible, what would you tell him to change? Mr. Moore: I’m sorry to make it as strong as possible? Boebert: Is weak, if you were advising him make America’s economy weak what would you have him change? Mr. Moore: Well I do pretty much what we’ve done. I mean this idea that somehow we’re in a recovery right now, I just looked at the numbers, the latest numbers for the GDP forecast for the second quarter. Those are 0.9 percent we had negative 1.5 in the first quarter so if you put those numbers together for the first half of 2021, we’ve had negative growth. What recovery are you all talking about? there is no recovery in the economy we’re negative we’re negative for the first half of the year after spending 1.9 trillion dollars yes.
On 6/14/2022, The president addressed members of the largest federation of unions in the country from inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center, showing his support for organized labor. His visit comes amid mounting issues for the U.S. economy, as inflation hits a four-decade high of 8.6 percent. “I don’t want to hear any more of these lies about reckless spending. We are changing people’s lives,” Biden said, saying multiple times that he was cutting deficits in contrast to his predecessor Donald Trump. The Congressional Budget Office last month forecast that the U.S. budget deficit would shrink dramatically to $1.036 trillion for fiscal year 2022 from $2.775 trillion last year given a recovery-fueled surge in revenues and lower outlays. Many times in recent speeches, Biden has been misleadingly taking credit for cutting federal deficits by historic amounts, though most of the reduction in deficits is the result of expiring emergency spending. Deficits fell between fiscal year 2020 and 2021 far less than initially projected after Biden added to them with more spending.
On 6/16/2022, during press conference, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy pressed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre to explain why President Biden’s administration is seeking to alleviate skyrocketing gas prices by calling on oil companies to increase productivity at refineries instead of calling for more drilling. Jean-Pierre confirmed that Joe Biden is moving full steam ahead to end fossil fuels despite soaring gas prices. “Why not just drill more here in the U.S., though?” Doocy asked. “Because we don’t need to do that,” Jean-Pierre responded. “What we need [oil companies] to do is, with the oil that’s out there, we need them to refine that oil so that the capacity can go up and that prices would go down.” Doocy pressed Jean-Pierre, “The president once said he’s going to end fossil fuel. Is that now off the table?” “No. We are going to continue to move forward…” Jean-Pierre said. The exchange comes days after Biden sent a letter threatening oil companies with executive intervention if they do not increase capacity at their refineries. Biden blamed oil companies for running “historically high profit margins” even as Americans experience surging gas prices. After waging a war on the fossil fuel industry, the Biden White House is now blaming oil refineries for not doing a “patriotic duty” by increasing oil output. Joe Biden made it very clear that he was going to shut down the oil industry. “No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill. Period.” Biden said in 2020. Joe Biden followed through with his threats and closed down the Keystone XL Pipeline in January 2021. Now Biden is blaming oil refineries and accusing them of price gouging.
