On 6/13/2022, President Biden told reporters that he hadn’t decided whether to visit Saudi Arabia to beg for more oil before saying he was indeed planning a trip there seconds later. “Have you decided whether or not to go to Saudi Arabia,” a reporter asks Biden. “No, not yet,” Biden replies on camera. Moments later, Biden said that he was going. “What would be holding up the decision at this point? Are there commitments from the Saudis you’re waiting for?” The questions continued to roll in as the President struggled to respond. “It happens to be a larger meeting taking place in Saudi Arabia. That’s the reason I’m going,” he said. “It has to do with national security with the Israelis. It has to do with much larger issues than the energy.”
Joe Biden wonders why they only give him one pen to sign bills when Obama got nine pens. He basically runs past reporters so he doesn’t have to answer their questions. He mistakenly calls activist Karen Narasaki “Karen Nagasaki”.
Democratic Senator Chris Coons, of Delaware dodged a question about protesters demonstrating outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices, avoiding an answer about potential arrests and prosecution under federal law. Coons was a guest on “Fox News Sunday,” and touted a bill he co-sponsored to strengthen security for Supreme Court Justices. During the interview, host Bret Baier noted that federal law already includes a provision prohibiting demonstrations outside the homes of Justices by protestors who intend to obstruct or influence the judicial process. “There is this law on the books. I’m just asking, should they follow the law, should the Attorney General say, ‘yes, arrest those people before something happens?’” Baier asked. Coons avoided answering the question, saying only, “As an elected official, I certainly have had protests outside of my house. Many of us have who serve in Congress or other elected offices. But we need to make sure that all appropriate actions are being taken to ensure the safety of members of our federal judiciary, including Supreme Court justices.”
Biden Economic Advisor Jared Bernstein “I don’t think the White House missed much” on inflation.
Dem rep. Clyburn “people are not happy” with Biden on rising gas prices.
Sen Chris Coons won’t say if those illegally protesting outside justices’ homes should be arrested.
Quinnipiac poll Biden’s approval rating fallen to 33% as Americans are spending $460 extra a month.
ABC :Americans are spending $160 more per month than a year ago just on gas.
On 6/13/2022, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Monday expressed frustration after House Democrats declined his third request for unanimous consent to quickly advance a bill to increase security for Supreme Court justices. “Why is Speaker Pelosi blocking something that the Senate has already passed unanimously?” “I do not understand why we would risk that,” McCarthy said. “I do not understand why you’ll make sure that the Capitol is protected right now knowing that something could happen…or something could happen at the Supreme Court this week, but you won’t protect those justices.”
McCarthy said if Democrats choose to “change the bill and move it back to the Senate” it will be obvious they are “trying to kill it” given that every senator had voted for the security bill in its initial form. “You’re trying to delay it,” he said. “That’s exactly what you’re doing.” “If you think something else needs to be added, run it by itself,” McCarthy added. “I think you’re jeopardizing people’s lives. I think you’re jeopardizing the safety of the Supreme Court.”
