On 7/20/2022, Buttigieg appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss gas prices. Buttigieg said, “I’m still astonished that some folks seem to really struggle to let go” of their gas-powered vehicles in favor of electric vehicles. When asked about “green” policies leaving homes powerless, President Joe Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said this is “what a transition looks like.”
On 7/20/2022, Biden climate advisor Gina McCarthy said President Joe Biden will use “every power available” to get rid of fossil fuels, during a segment on CNN’s “New Day” with Kaitlan Collins, John Berman, and Brianna Keilar.
On 7/19/2022, GOP Congressman Troy Nehls pressed Biden Admin Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, exposing Joe Biden’s mental health and pointing out examples of his severe cognitive decline. He also demanded answers as to whether or not Buttigieg and his colleagues have considered invoking the 25th Amendment and removing Joe Biden for his extreme incompetence. Buttigieg was totally caught off guard, and he had no answers for Nehls. Nehls began his question by reminding Buttigieg that he once questioned then-President Donald Trump’s mental fitness. So, the Texas Republican continued, it was fair to press Biden’s Cabinet secretary on the current president and a litany of examples that have gone viral on right-wing media as possible evidence that Biden isn’t up to the task of being the commander in chief at 79-years-old. Nehls brought photos of Joe Biden during some of his recent gaffes, and the bike fall.
Nehls: Please describe America to me in one single word. What would that be if you could describe America in one single word?
Buttigieg: For me, I guess home.
Nehls: Fair enough. Fair enough. Well, just a few weeks ago, this is how President Biden described America in one word. Could you please tell me what that word means? It’s this one right here. Could you even say the word?
Buttigieg: I’m not in the habit of trying to read transcriptions.
Nehls: I bring this up to you because you, yourself, questioned Donald Trump’s mental state of mind in September of 2019. When you stated to CNN, I quote, “if our Presidency is not in good shape, then our country is not in good shape.” And Mr. Secretary, I could not agree with you more. I’m going to repeat what your quote is, “if our Presidency is not in good shape, then our country is not in good shape.” Inflation is at 9.1% gas prices are through the roof. Our adversaries are exploiting our weaknesses across the globe, and our southern border is nonexistent. This administration puts the American people last. The left and the dishonest media, which in my humble opinion, is the greatest threat to this country. That dishonest media began questioning President Trump’s mental state back in February of 2017, a month into his presidency. We now have President Biden in office for 18 months. And just recently, we now see the mainstream media questioning President Biden’s mental state, and for good reason. Sadly, he shakes hands with ghosts and imaginary people. He falls off bicycles. Even at the White House Easter celebration, the Easter Bunny had to guide him back into his safe place. Cue cards that say ‘sit here,’ or ‘end of speech,’ which he actually states. That is, if he stays awake. So my question for you is, sir, have you spoken with any other cabinet members about implementing the 25th amendment on President Biden?
Buttigieg: First of all, I’m glad to have a president who can ride a bicycle, and I look beyond the insulting nature of that question.
Nehls: Have you spoken to any other cabinet members about implementing the 25th amendment on President Biden?
Buttigieg: Of course not.
Nehls: have you emailed any members of the Executive Branch about the President’s health and cognitive decline, including text messages from your private phone?
On 7/19/2022, Biden’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby reiterated the goal of the deal is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, but it could produce other gains. “Well, look, I mean, there’s obviously a tangential, potentially tangential benefit,” Kirby said when asked about recent remarks by Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who framed the return of the deal as a way to bolster the global oil supply. Sherman made her comment on July 12, during an interview at the International Student House of Washington. “They would get sanctions relief,” she said. “They would improve their economy and sell their oil again, and the world needs their oil, so they could get a good price for it. It’s all in their interest to do this.”
