HYGONews Week’s Most Popular Stories 12/4; supply chain, Biden football, Noble Prize, Twtiter

On 11/28/2022, Joe Biden traveled to Freeland, Michigan to tour a computer chip plant to promote his economic agenda. Biden looked at the Union workers at SK Siltron and asked, “Ten years ago, how many of you knew what the hell a supply chain was?” He bragged about his college football days during remarks to the union workers. Biden only played one semester on Delaware’s freshman football team before he was forced to quit because he failed his classes. Bide did quit freshman football team his first semester, but claims he “could’ve been an All-American”. As consumer confidence continues falling, Biden claims people “starting to feel a sense of optimism”

On 11/30/2022, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to answer when asked if the Biden Admin will try to shut Twitter down for posts it doesn’t like. Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Karine Jean-Pierre to explain what she meant when she said the Biden Admin will be monitoring Twitter, “If you see something you don’t like [posted on Twitter], would you try to shut Twitter down?” Peter Doocy asked. Karine Jean-Pierre didn’t give a straight answer.

The Biden Admin this week said they are monitoring Twitter after Elon Musk promised to allow free speech.

On 11/28/2022, Karine Jean-Pierre Says Biden Will Meet With “Noble Prize” Winners. She pronounced “Nobel” as “Noble” 5 times, not once is correct, “Now, finally, today, President Biden met with three U.S. winners of the 2022 Noble Prize: Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi, who won the Noble Prize in Chemistry; Dr. John Clauser, who won the Noble Prize in Physics; and Dr. Douglas Diamond, who won the Noble Prize in Economic Sciences. The President is restarting an important tradition that just like — just like he does for winning sports teams, as you have seen him do in the past 20 months or so, the President meets with U.S. winners of the Noble Prize.”
And then “I’m going to go out of school for a second,” she said.
Biden Spox John Kirby Defends Easing Oil Sanctions On Venezuela Even As Biden Limits American Energy
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked John Kirby, “Okay. And on the sanctions relief for Venezuela —”
MR. KIRBY: Yeah.

Doocy: — why is it that President Biden would rather let U.S. companies drill for oil in Venezuela than here in the U.S.?

MR. KIRBY: That’s not an accurate take on the President’s view.

Doocy: Earlier this month, he said, “No more drilling. There is no more drilling.”

MR. KIRBY: The President has issued 9,000 permits for drilling on U.S. federal lands, Peter; 9,000 of them are being unused. There are plenty of opportunities for oil and gas companies to drill here in the United States.

Now, I’ll let Chevron speak for this particular issue of sanctions relief, but our expectation is it won’t be a lot of oil coming out of there. It will have to be shipped to the United States.

Doocy: Does the President think there’s some benefit to the climate to drill oil in Venezuela and not here?

MR. KIRBY: No, it has nothing to do with a benefit to the climate, Peter. Again, there are 9,000 unused permits here in the United States on federal land that oil and gas companies can and should take advantage of. Nine thousand. And we’re talking about one there in Venezuela.

Now, look, it remains to be seen how much will get drilled down there. It’ll be up to Chevron to decide that, Peter. But — but as a function of the sanction itself, that oil, whatever product is drilled, has to come to the United States.

On 11/30/2022, Joe Biden delivered remarks at the White House Tribal Nations Summit. During his speech, Biden paused in the middle after someone in the crowd made a slight noise. In response to the noise Biden quickly fired back, “I beg your pardon?”. The person in the crowd who made the minuscule sound responded by reportedly saying they were not heckling Biden. To which Biden rambled, “I thought you said no, I was getting worried”. Biden said, ” respect for Tribes as nations and treaties as law.”

Biden just finished delivering his speech when an unknown person in the crowd shouted “four more years” at the president. The president waved the comment off and thanked the person. “I don’t know about that,” Biden said. “Thanks — thank you.” The Democrats are rebranding and promoting the younger generation to leadership positions. Pelosi, Hoyer and Clyburn earlier this month stepped down from their leadership positions in order to usher in the younger and more radical lawmakers. Biden said, ” I’m sure I’ll make mistakes, but you know me. Don’t hesitate to correct me when I make them. I know you; you won’t hesitate. (Laughter.) But I really mean it.”

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Four more years!

THE PRESIDENT: Oh, I don’t know about that.

Thanks. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally, finally, finally. Let’s keep it going, okay?
