Two stories.
1. Hurricane Harvey: Neighbours form human chain to rescue woman in labour trapped in floodwaters.
When Adrielle Smith is old enough, she’ll have an incredible story to share about the day she was born.
the Flood caused by Hurricane Harvey trapped her mother, who had gone into labor, in her apartment.
a dump truck was sent to rescue her. What happened next will be remembered forever.
One by one, neighbors clasped hands and formed a chain in the waist-high water, carefully guiding the mother to the truck’s bed. a true testament to human will and compassion.
neighbor Molly Akers, who captured the moment on video, said:
I’ve only lived in Houston a week, but my neighbors have already made me cry tears of joy! Mid-morning my downstairs neighbor went into labor. The couple couldn’t reach 911, so a complex wide email was sent out asking for nurses and OB’s.
I talked to her husband and a plan was made to move her to the second floor if the water level continued to rise. Suddenly our building was filled with others from our complex showing up to help! More than an hour later Houston FD showed up.
My incredible neighbors made a human chain to help the woman and her husband to the truck. Moments like these are incredibly precious and remind me of all the good in the world.
Having twice miscarried, according to People, they’d become intently focused on their faith with hopes of getting pregnant again.
Their baby girl, Adrielle, was born later and assigned to the intensive care unit with unspecified medical issues.
