Democrats in disarray: Nancy Pelosi is arguing with Donna Brazile at the Kamala Harris defeat speech.
“Rule out nothing!”
CNN’s John King floats the idea that Kamala could run again: “…she was leaving the door open to run for president again…She’s 60 years old, she just ran a campaign, she does have an organization so you could say she does have a head start.”
Former Univision anchor Maria Elena Salinas was rather despondent at how well Donald Trump did with Latinos.
“I am a little bit surprised. You know, Latino voters still support Vice President Harris and Democrats in general in higher numbers than Donald Trump … Republican presidential candidate that has got the highest percentage of the Latino vote was George W. Bush in 2004 with just about — you know, above 40 percent. But you know, Martha was right that, this time around, the economy is a top issue for Latinos. And that’s what they’re voting for, putting a roof over their heads and feeding their children. And they trust Trump on the economy. And as far as immigration is concerned, it used to be that an issue that drew Latinos to Democrats with the promise of an immigration reform that never materialized. The views have now shifted. And they prefer a more hard-line approach at the border, especially in states like Arizona. They don’t want to be associated with the chaos at the border and those that Trump calls criminals — you know, just a few weeks ago, David, there was a New York Times poll that showed that two-thirds of Latino voters thought when Trump was disparaging immigrants, calling them criminals, saying that they poisoned the blood of our country, he wasn’t talking about them. He was talking about other immigrants. So, you know, it’s — it is surprising. It’s also surprising that a sizable number of Latinos said that they support mass deportations, maybe without realizing it wouldn’t only hurt the economy, but it’s going to lead to separation of families.”
