Biden Teleprompter mumble, 6 weeks Inflation Reduction: tax credit solar panels; investigate Twitter

On 11/18/2022, Joe Biden delivered remarks from White House set in the South Court Auditorium and met with business and labor leaders. Joe Biden slurred his words as he told people concerned about heating their homes this winter they can get a tax credit if they install expensive solar panels. Biden made no sense whatsoever as he attempted to read from his teleprompter. After mumbling through remarks, Biden refused to engage with the media and ignored reporters. White House kicked out the reporters while he sat there and smirked.

Biden said his plan to lower energy prices includes tax credits for solar panels and heat pumps
“Prices for things like clothes and televisions and appliances are going down as well as we head into the holidays. This week we saw the growth in prices in business pay for goods and services to come down as well. Gas prices are down. But it’s going to take — it’s going to take time to get inflation back to normal levels as we keep our job market strong. So we could see setbacks along the way, I don’t doubt that, but thus far we’re in good shape. But we’re laser-focused on that.”

“In the six short weeks — in six short weeks, Americans are going to start to feel the effects of the Inflation Reduction Act.”

“We’re also helping folks save money on their energy bills. Starting January 1, you can get up to $3,200 tax credit to make your home more energy efficient. You can get up to a $600 tax credit for new windows, $500 for new doors, $2,000 to install a heat pump, $600 to replace electrical panels. These are what — here’s what this means: If you’re living in a home with drafty windows and doors, starting January 1, you’ll be able to save up to $1,100 on the cost of replacing them. And that’s just on the upgrade … And that’s not all. If you want to install solar panels on your roof, you can get a tax credit for 30 percent of the cost. It’ll bring down the cost of installation by about $7,500.”

“Look, we’re talking about real money here, to save, people. And it’s just going to start kicking in now.”

On 11/18/2022, during press briefing, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “Okay. Two tech-related ones. There have been some Democratic senators today calling on the FTC to investigate potential violations of consumer protection laws by Twitter. I’m curious if the White House agrees that perhaps that agency should do that or has any other comment on the ongoing calamity at that platform.”

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: So, look, as you know, the FTC is an independent agency. I’m not going to comment on any actions that they — they may or may not be taking. Again, can’t — not going to comment. It’s — they’re independent. I’m going to leave it there.

Reporter: Is the White House planning to continue using the platform amid the uncertainty about its future?

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: So, look, you know, we’ve seen — we’ve seen the reports, as all of you have, on what is currently happening with Twitter, you know, Ed. But we’re not going to speculate on its future of the site or what may happen next to the site. But we’re just not going to comment from there.

On 11/10/2022, during White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s press briefing, A reporter asked National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, “The President yesterday said that it should be — that Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter should be looked into as a potential threat to national security. Can you offer anything about why? And he also said there are many ways to look into that. How would you look into that?”

MR. SULLIVAN: Well, you heard the President yesterday, and the CFIUS process is the normal process through which transactions that might have a national security nexus get reviewed. And I will defer to the CFIUS process rather than comment on it further from this podium.

Q: investigate Musk Twitter? A: I’m suggesting worth being looked at
On 11/9/2022, Joe Biden delivered remarks on the 2022 midterms and called on Preapproved List of 10 reporters. A reporter asked Biden, “Mr. President, do you think Elon Musk is a threat to U.S. national security? And should the U.S. — and with the tools you have — investigate his joint acquisition of Twitter with foreign governments, which include the Saudis?”

Biden: (Laughs.) I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at. Whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate, I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting that it wor- — worth being looked at. And — and — but that’s all I’ll say.
