This weekend, top Senate Democrats, who have known him for decades, described this situation as “unacceptable” and “completely irresponsible.” What’s the disconnect here?

MS. Jean-Pierre: They also said, I may add — if I may add — that the President is handling this in the appropriate fashion, that the President and his team has been completely — complying completely with — with the investigation. They also said that. And so, I will — I will leave it up to — their comments up to them. I’m not going to go beyond what they have said. But they also said that piece too, and I think it’s important to note that they believe that the President has handled this properly, as well.

Throughout the month, Jean-Pierre has fielded a volley of questions from journalists on the investigation into Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified records, which authorities found at multiple unauthorized locations. All presidential and vice presidential materials must be delivered to the National Archives under the Presidential Records Act.
