On 4/1/2022, Joe Biden on Friday delivered remarks on the March jobs report. The March jobs report was another disappointment with fewer jobs than expected. Joe Biden was asked about inflation outpacing wages and he turned around and ran away. “Sir, what about inflation? What about inflation outpacing wages, Mr. President?” a reporter shouted. Biden shuffled away and prepared to leave to go home to Delaware.
CNBC’s Rick Santelli sounded the alarm on the spread between wages and the consumer price index. “The CPI rate was close to 8%. Wages as strong as they are high on the year over year was 5.6%. There’s a bit of a spread there,” CNBC’s Rick Santelli said. “You have to use more dollars in your wallet because of inflation and savings rates starting to go down.”
On 3/31/2022, during press conference House Speaker Nancy Pelosi discussed inflation, gas prices and Biden’s 2023 proposed budget. Nancy Pelosi expressed shock and indignation on gas prices in California, “It costs a lot of money in California. If you drive around in California and see the cost, you think, ‘how could this be?’” she questioned.
“I don’t think any president would say he himself made [inflation] happen – of course the public policy that we’re engaged in made it happen, BUT the private sector made it happen too,” Pelosi said.
It’s “just the way it is,:” Pelosi said. Pelosi urged against solving the gas crisis by producing more domestic energy. “We cannot allow the fossil fuel industry to use this as an excuse to reverse everything we’re doing to save the planet,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi told reporters Justice Clarence Thomas, the only black justice on the Supreme Court, never should have been appointed.
