No free phone & free monthly plan for US citizens but immigrants? Rules for thee, but not for VP

On 4/8/2022, Democrats celebrated Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the US Supreme Court. During his speech today Joe Biden started mumbling incoherently about the foothills of the Himalayas. Biden says he “was in the the foothills of the Himalayas with Xi Jinping, traveling with him. That’s when I traveled 17,000 miles when I was Vice President. I don’t know that for a fact.” Kamala Harris exclaims: Good Morning! Well into the afternoon.

On 4/8/2022, when asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy whether the administration had a “plan to give free smartphones to U.S. citizens” who wanted them, White House press secretary Jen Psaki asked, “Should we not be tracking migrants who irregularly cross the border?” “Well, it’d be great if anybody that wanted a free phone and a free monthly plan could get one,” Doocy responded. “So is that going to be an offer for everybody or just people that walk into the country illegally?”

“Well, Peter, as when we talked about this the other day, what I noted to you is that we have a range of means of tracking individuals who irregularly migrate to the country in order to ensure that they are meeting their notice to appear obligations and that they are appearing in court when they should appear in court,” Psaki said. “Phones is one of them.”

Jen Psaki also says she has “Nothing To Predict” on whether Biden will make his first ever trip to border.

Two days earlier on 4/6/2022, Psaki confirmed Joe Biden is giving illegal aliens free (taxpayer funded) smartphones, “Our team in Texas is saying that you guys are starting to give smartphones to border crossers hoping that they’ll use the phones to check in or to be tracked. Which part of that is supposed to deter people from crossing illegally into the States?” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Psaki. “We need to take steps to ensure that we know where individuals are and we can track and we can check in with them,” Psaki said. Psaki said the handing out of smartphones “is all part of our effort as individuals come into the United States and individuals who are entering who will proceed to immigration proceedings to monitor and track where they are.” Doocy asked Psaki whether there was concern by anyone in the administration that some migrants may decide to take the phones and “toss them.” “Do you have a record people throwing phones away,” she responded. “I’m just asking if that’s a concern,” Doocy said. “Our concern is ensuring that individuals who irregularly migrate to the United States proceed through our process of, you know, of course, being monitored, but also participating in hearings to determine whether or not they will be able to stay,” Psaki said.

On 4/8/2022, White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended Vice President Kamala Harris for giving Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson a hug without a face mask after coming into close contact with individuals who had tested positive this week.

Asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy about the embrace, which took place earlier on Friday at the White House during a ceremony honoring Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, Psaki appeared to acknowledge the mistake, saying Harris had had an “emotional moment.”

“Does the CDC say that people who are in close contact can give people hugs outside?” Doocy pressed. “We know, Peter, that outside you can benefit significantly being outside,” Psaki said. “She was playing an important role in confirming or overseeing the confirmation of the first Black woman to the Supreme Court,” Psaki said. She asserted that Harris was “socially distanced from people for the vast, vast majority of her time overseeing that confirmation yesterday.”

Pressed further and questioned about how the instance “is not a case of rules for thee, but not for VP” by Doocy, Psaki said Harris “was socially distanced for 99.9% of the event today, and she had an emotional moment, which is understandable.”
