On 2/12/2025, President Trump announced he will be holding a press conference tomorrow to release a list of names of entities and people involved in government fraud and abuse. This comes one day after Elon Musk said DOGE was investigating how government workers mysteriously accrued millions of dollars. Trump said he’s going to name names.
“I’m going to read to you some of the names that hundreds of millions and even billions of dollars have been given to,” Trump said during a presser on Wednesday. “I say it in front of our our attorney general. There’s no chance that there’s not kickbacks or something going on. When you give millions and millions of dollars to somebody that stands to look at something for 15 minutes and walks away with millions of dollars. That money’s coming back in some form. And that’s only one form of corruption,” Trump said. President Trump said that out of a list of 200 expenditures, only 3 looked “reasonable.”
“I went through a list of 200 expenditures that were made, and I found three that looked like they were reasonable. Okay, three and, we’ll be talking about that tomorrow,” he said. “I want to commend Elon. He doesn’t need this. You know, he’s abused by you people every day. He’s found more things than anybody could find,” Trump added.
Bill Clinton’s ‘National Performance Review’ aimed to cut government programs and ended up cutting 100s of thousands of federal jobs. Al Gore bragged about eliminating numerous agencies:
Al Gore: “We gave serious consideration to totally eliminating these agencies. We will be looking at every other agency and program asking the direct question:
‘Do we really need this agency? Do we really need this program? Is there a better way to do it?’
We have already eliminated 100 programs. We will eliminate a lot more in the weeks and months ahead.”
