Questions Secretary Mayorkas on Biden Administration’s Failed Immigration Policy
Graham: I reject the idea this is a global phenomenon problem. I think you’re misdiagnosing the problem. These are policy changes y’all instituted that I told you wouldn’t work, and we now need to fix that.

Is Criticizing George Soros and Globalism ANTI-SEMITIC???
Congressman Matt Gaetz questioned Dr. Pamela Nadell, Director of the Jewish Studies Program at American University, before the House Judiciary Committee on why certain free speech that conservatives use to criticize George Soros and globalism is often conflated with anti-semitism. During Gaetz’s time to question witnesses, he disagreed with Pamela Nadell, an American University professor who is the director of the Jewish Studies Program, on the term “globalist” being used as an antisemitic code word against Soros, who is heavily criticized by Republicans over his financial support for progressive causes. He’s also at the center of a number of right-wing conspiracy theories.

“Is it possible to criticize George Soros without being antisemitic?” Gaetz asked Nadell. “I don’t know all the tropes people use to associate with George Soros, but when they talk about a —” she responded before the Florida congressman jumped back in. “No, no no! Not when they talk about someone else. Is criticism against George Soros not antisemitic? That’s the question,” he said.

Nadell pointed out that another witness, Stacy Burdett, vice president of government relations for the Anti-Defamation League, offered to answer, but Gaetz remained focused on Nadell. “There’s no phone a friend here in the Judiciary Committee,” he said. Nadell argued terms like “globalist” being thrown at Soros and Soros’ name itself have become “code words” for antisemitic attacks. “Any critique of globalism is antisemitic. Now that really is an Austin Powers —” Gaetz said before Nadell corrected him.

“No, what I said was that the word globalist, I didn’t say any critique of globalism,” she said. “You ascribe that motive,” Gaetz eventually said before his time ran out. “See, when I criticize globalism, I’m often criticizing the [United Nations] which then in turn goes around and criticizes Israel.”

Sen Rubio Questions Sec Mayorkas at a Senate Approps Hearing
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seemed to suggest that he could revoke the visas of any foreign visitors in the U.S. who can be shown to have endorsed or supported Hamas terrorists. Mr. Mayorkas was questioned about the idea at a congressional hearing. Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been pushing the idea, said that U.S. law calls for denying admission to anyone who endorses or espouses terrorism. He said the same principle should apply to those already here on visitor’s visas.

“I think it makes sense that if you can’t get a visa because you espouse terrorist views or endorse terrorist views, then if you have a visa and you do that while a visitor, we’re talking about visitors to the United States, that visa should be canceled,” said Mr. Rubio, Florida Republican. “I would agree,” Mr. Mayorkas said.
