McCarthy: Senator Biden voted for work requirements, Wisconsin work requirements on the ballot

#shorts On 5/26/2023, Speaker Kevin McCarthy said, “Senator Biden, he voted for work requirements. If you look, overwhelmingly, America supports work requirements. Even in Wisconsin, just a couple of months ago, they had work requirements on the ballot, and the Democrats actually won a big election. That election, work requirements passed with 82 percent of the vote. Whatever passes with that high remark. So, I don’t understand why Democrats here have a different opinion than Americans across the country, Republicans and Democrats. It takes people from poverty and helps them get a job. It supports Medicare and Social Security because more people are paying in. But think about the opposite. If you’re opposed to work requirements, you support the idea of borrowing money from China, paying people who are only able-bodied with no dependence to sit on a couch, and then they’re not paying into Social Security or Medicare. You’re harming the whole process. And I believe in giving people an opportunity to go get jobs and helping the economy stronger.

Look, the Democrats, when they took over, this is one of the reasons we’re in this problem. They opted spending so much that now we’re spending more than we ever have. We’ve got our highest debt that we ever had, and they want to continue. We cannot. At the end of the day, this has to change trajectory.
